Former Minister of Internal Affairs of Ingushetia, an active protester. In May 2019, he was put on the wanted list in connection with a criminal case on the use of violence against representatives of the authorities during the dispersal of a protest gathering in Magas against the transfer of land to Chechnya. Suspected of organising the use of violence dangerous to life and health. At the end of December it became known that Pogorov is also suspected of participation in an extremist community.
On 26 February 2021, Pogorov was detained in Nazran and taken to the pre-trial detention centre in Nalchik. On 25 May he was transferred to house arrest, but the next day Pogorov was taken from the hospital to the court and again placed in custody.
