A resident of Almetyevsk (Tatarstan). He was detained on October 17, 2017, and arrested on October 18 on charges of organizing activities of a terrorist organization in connection with alleged involvement in the activities of the Islamist party Hizb ut-Tahrir, which has nothing to do with terrorism. On April 26, 2019, he was sentenced to 18 years in a strict regime penal colony. On September 24, the court of appeal reduced the sentence to 17 years and nine months.
In the colony, he was kept in solitary confinement for several months.
