Former deputy of the Kurultai (legislative assembly) of Bashkortostan, voted against constitutional amendments in 2020
On 24 March 2022, he and four other defendants in the case were had their premises searched and sent to pre-trial detention. The law enforcers also searched at least 12 residents of Ufa as part of the case.
While already in the pre-trial detention centre, Dmitry told about threats from the FSB, reported about the use of violence against him and other defendants in the case during the delivery to the court, as well as about the fact that the investigators put pressure in the pre-trial detention centre, forcing to accelerate familiarisation with the case materials.
According to Mediazona, Sergei Sapozhnikov, also a participant in the circle and now a witness in the case, testified against the participants of the circle. According to him, the circle was preparing to seize power.
