A resident of Karachay-Cherkessia. In August 2023, he was taken into custody on charges of organising, participating in, and being involved with the activities of an extremist organisation in connection with the Jehovah's Witnesses community. Representatives of this community are prosecuted under extremist articles solely on the basis of their religious activities: holding meetings and worship services and engaging new supporters. On 20 of February 2025, Semenov was sentenced to six years and three months in a general regime colony.
