A resident of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, a janitor. In May 2023, a case was brought against him for deliberately spreading false information about the Russian Armed Forces. At that time, his home was searched. He was beaten during the arrest. Then the court chose a preventive measure in the form of imposinh a ban on certain actions. In December 2023, a case waы brought against him for public justification of terrorism, and no later than March 2024 - for discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. No later than February 2024, the investigators petitioned for the man to be sent to a psychiatric hospital for examination. On 1 April 2024, the man was searched again, and admitted to a psychiatric hospital against his will after. When the case went to court, it became known that a case was also launched against him for inciting actions against the security of the Russian Federation.
At the trial, Yakunichev said that in the pre-trial detention centre he was refused medication and was threatened with "a reprisal of a sexual nature".
