Detained on 18 December 2019 following a search. According to his wife, law enforcers sawed the door with an angle grinder and placed a bag containing books in the corridor, including the "Concept of Hizb ut-Tahrir", which had not previously been in the house. He was subsequently placed in custody on charges of organising the activities of a terrorist organisation.
On 5 March 2021, sentenced to 16 years in a strict regime penal colony.
In 2012 in Ufa, Ildar Ibragimov was sentenced to a year and four months in an open colony for involvement in Hizb ut-Tahrir under the article on organising the activities of an extremist organisation.
