Student of the Department of Contemporary Art at the Higher School of Economics, School of Design. On 27 July 2023, he was detained and sent under house arrest as part of a case of participation in the activities of an extremist organisation. TV propagandist Vladimir Solovyov claimed that Trofimov and his fellow student Alina Olekhnovich were activists in Navalny's "underground headquarters" and were "helping the FBK".
In August 2023, the decision to place Trofimov under house arrest was cancelled and he was taken into custody.
Later it became known that the charge was reclassified from participation in the activities of an extremist organisation to participation in the activities of an extremist community.
On 14 March 2024, Trofimov was sentenced to three and a half years in a general regime colony.
