A resident of St. Petersburg, formerly an employee of the Interior Ministry of Khabarovsk Krai. On 14 February 2024, he was detained on suspicion of drawing anti-war inscriptions. St Petersburg police claim that he had been "communicating with handlers from Ukraine for some time and was preparing to join a terrorist organisation". On 19 February 2024 Podoshvelev was taken into custody. On 13 March, his preventive measure was changed to house arrest. In June 2024, it became known that Podoshvelev was also accused of attempted participation in a terrorist community: according to the investigation, he was planning to join the Legion of Freedom of Russia. He was taken into custody. The case was brought to court with a charge of participation in a terrorist organisation, not attempted participation in a terrorist community. In June 2025, the court sentenced him to 14 years in prison, of which he must spend the first three years in prison and the remainder in a high-security colony. He was also ordered to pay a fine of 250,000 roubles.
