A resident of Nizhny Novgorod region, formerly a member of the Yabloko party. A case was brought against him for incitement to terrorist activities. On 7 October 2020, he was sentenced to a fine of 400 thousand rubles.

On 14 February 2024, Sharygin was detained on charges of participating in the activities of an extremist organisation: the reason for the case was the reposting of a publication about the reopening of Navalny's headquarters and the publication of leaflet layouts of Navalny's team in the run-up to the elections. The next day the court sent him into custody.

Later, Sharygin said that a badge with Navalny's symbols had been planted on him. It was allegedly found in Sharygin's car, but this occured at night without witnesses a day after the car was seized.

Sharygin's mother stated in court that during the search they took away all her personal savings for 40 years - 77 banknotes of 100 US dollars and 100 banknotes of 100 euros. This money was recognised as material evidence.

On 13 February 2025, Sharygin was sentenced to three years in a general regime colony.
