A resident of Naberezhnye Chelny and an employee of KAMAZ, Lekomtsev was detained on 9 October 2023 and subsequently taken into custody on charges of participating in the activities of an extremist organisation. The charges were linked, in particular, to his anti-war publications.
On 27 January 2025, he was sentenced to two and a half years in a general regime penal colony. In June, an appeal court increased the sentence by one year.
