A resident of Kursk. A criminal case was opened against him and two others due to their involvement with the Jehovah’s Witnesses community. Kupriiansky was accused of organising the activities of an extremist organisation. He was detained on 8 August 2023 following a search, and on 10 August the court placed him under house arrest.
On 2 December 2024, Kupriiansky was sentenced to 6 years in a general regime penal colony. On 26 May 2025, the sentence was reduced to 4,5 years on appeal.
Members of this community are prosecuted under extremist legislation solely for their religious activities — holding meetings, worship services, and recruiting new followers.
