In 2017, the Bakhchysarai District Court sentenced Seidamet Mustafayev to 10 days of arrest "for participation in an unauthorised demonstration" during the search of political prisoner Seiran Saliev. In 2021, Mustafayev was detained and fined for breaking the rules of conduct in the event of an emergency, and in February 2022, he served several days of administrative arrest under the article on violating the rules of mass gathering in public places.

On August 24, 2023, Federal Security Service (FSB) officers searched the homes of Crimean Tatars in Bakhchysarai and other settlements of the Bakhchysarai district of Crimea. They detained six "Crimean Solidarity" activists, including Mustafayev.

It is reported that during the search, FSB confiscated a book from the Hizb ut-Tahrir publishing house. His relatives claim that it was planted.
