Detained on July 7, 2020, and later taken into custody on charges of participation in the activities of a terrorist organisation. On August 24, 2021, the case was returned to the prosecutor's office because the materials were not recorded in Braille - another defendant, Alexander Sizikov, was blinded as a result of a traffic accident. On October 27, the appeal court overturned that decision. On May 17, 2024, he was sentenced to 12 years' imprisonment in high security custody, with the first four years to be served in prison
