Resident of Cherkessk. On 21 February 2024, a search took place at his home. On 21 March Fomin was detained and sent to custody on 23 March on charges of participation and involvement in the activities of an extremist organisation due to his involvement in the Jehovah's Witnesses community. Representatives of this community are prosecuted under extremist articles only for religious activities: meetings, joint worship services, attracting new supporters.
On 23 June 2025, the court sentenced him to four and a half years in a general regime penal colony.
The believer was diagnosed with a second-group disability. The project "Jehovah's Witnesses. Legal situation in Russia" reported that at the age of 20 Fomin was attacked by several men on the grounds of hatred. The injuries sustained during the beating resulted in disability.
