Vladislav Sinitsa

On August 4, 2019, Vladislav Sinitsa was detained on charges of inciting hatred and was taken into custody the next day by court decision. Sinitsa's trial took place in one day on September 2. The following day, September 3, the court sentenced Sinitsa to five years in a penal colony.

In August 2022, Sinitsa was transferred to the colony's hospital despite having no illness and good test results.

In December 2022, it became known that a new case had been opened against Sinitsa for calls to extremism. According to the investigation, while in the medical unit of Correctional Colony No. 1 in the Kostroma region, he created a new Twitter account and made posts that negatively characterized military personnel and National Guard officers, as well as contained calls "for violent actions against Vladimir Putin and the Russian Federation as a whole." The human rights project Seteviye Svobody (Net Freedom) (which provides legal assistance in cases regarding freedom of expression) noted that the account from which the tweets attributed to Sinitsa were published was registered in October 2022, and its first post was a quote from the tweet for which the man is currently serving his sentence. "From October 13 to 24, about fifty tweets appeared on the account; since then, it has not been updated and has no followers. All this looks like clear falsification," the human rights defenders noted.

On June 13, 2024, Sinitsa was sentenced in the second case to two years, six months, and ten days in a strict-regime colony. The sentence was handed down shortly before the end of his term for the first conviction.
